Multi-Column Layouts

Place sections side by side using the 12-column grid system.

1

Understanding multi-column rows

Redsun's section layout uses a 12-column grid system. By default, every section takes the full width (12 columns). You can merge two or more adjacent sections into a row where they sit side by side, each taking a portion of the 12-column grid. On mobile, multi-column rows automatically collapse to a single column.

Hero, footer, and banner sections cannot be placed in multi-column rows — they always remain full-width.

2

Merging sections into a row

Open the Section Order panel on the left side of the builder. Find two adjacent sections you want to place side by side. Click the 'Merge' button on the first section. Both sections will be combined into a row, each taking 50% width (6/12 columns).

You can only merge sections that are directly next to each other in the section list.

3

Resizing columns

When you select any section inside a multi-column row, a resize overlay appears. Drag the handle between columns to adjust their widths. Column widths snap to the 12-column grid — common splits include 50/50 (6/6), 33/67 (4/8), 25/75 (3/9), and three equal columns (4/4/4).

The column span indicator (e.g. '6/12') shows below each resize handle.

4

Ungrouping a row

To break a multi-column row back into separate full-width sections, select any section in the row and click 'Ungroup Row' in the context dock on the right, or use the 'Ungroup' button in the Section Order panel.

5

Design track preferences

Each design track has a preferred multi-column configuration. News Editorial and Geometric Precision tracks are optimised for multi-column layouts. Minimal Luxe uses narrow layouts that don't suit columns. The builder respects your track's preferences when suggesting column splits.

You can always override the track's default column split by manually resizing.
